                                I discovered bead weaving and embroidery in 2002 and since then have

                           been fascinated by the tangibility of beads, the abundance of colors in seed beads

                           and the beauty of pearls and semi-precious stones. Working with beads is a tactile

                           and meditative practice, which I thoroughly enjoy. I can "paint" with beads, using

                           pictorial elements or abstraction - I can even use photographs as components

                           of my beadwork. Just playing with all the beautiful beads in their immense

                           variety is pure fun, even though or maybe because a piece can take between

                           50 and 150 hours to complete.
